VIDA Coworking is now offering our first-ever kids’ summer camp! Portland area locals – whether you’re a VIDA Member or not – benefit from this exciting (and fun!) program.

An extension of VIDA SCHOOL, our day camp’s mission is to impart imagination, exploration and friendship into your child’s summer! Our summer camp in Portland, Oregon is licensed, COVID-safe and all about hands-on learning, open-ended play, creative expression and creating connections with peers.

Plus, we simply want to support busy, overworked parents. The past year’s 24/7 homeschooling and home entertainment was a real undertaking. Our Portland summer camp is here to give you a break!

This small-group camp is for kids six-10 years old with a max group size of 12 children.

About VIDA’s Summer Day Camp in Portland

Each week, the kids will focus on daily hands-on, fun projects and outdoor play. To keep minds sharp for the upcoming school year, our summer day camp curriculum incorporates science, technology, engineering, visual arts and math – all with a fun twist. After all, learning should be fun! We want to help foster a love of education through the freedom of experimentation, collaboration and play.

COVID-19 Protocols

Our priority is the children’s health and safety. Our COVID-19 protocols are specifically designed to protect the kids, their families and our staff. All VIDA Coworking coronavirus health + safety measures are in place, and we will add any additional safety precautions as needed. 

The Summer Camp’s Location

One of the ways VIDA’s is the best summer camp Portland has to offer our location. The program’s home base is VIDA SCHOOL at the centrally located VIDA Coworking (401 NE 19th Ave, #200, Portland, OR). What’s more is parents, can also make use of VIDA’s workspace for free! When your child is at our summer camp, you can get work done in VIDA’s Main Coworking Space. 

And, when the kids are outside playing, most of that playtime will be spent at Buckman Park & Field. 

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm

Daily Schedule

  • 9:00 – 9:15: Drop-Off
  • 9:15 – 10:30: Free Play + Snack*
  • 10:30-11:30: Project Time or Outdoor Time
  • 11:30 – 12:00: Lunch*
  • 12:00-12:45: Small Projects
  • 1:00-2:45: Themed Activity + Outdoor Play 
  • 2:45- 3:00: Clean-Up + Pick-Up

*Kids will need to bring their own lunch and snack every day. Due to food allergies, peanuts are not allowed at the summer camp.

Age Range

Kids ages 6-10. 12 kids per day

Weekly Schedules: 11 Sessions

The cost of our Portland Summer Camp is $225/week, including onsite coworking if parents would like to stay and work in the Main Coworking Space during camp hours. Payment and requisite paperwork are requested three weeks prior to the camp start date.

Choose either the week-by-week enrollment (subject to availability), or select the entire summer session for a 10% discount. VIDA Members receive a 15% discount.

  • June 14-18 = Nature Art. Create fairy houses, nature walks to collect organic materials and art centered around the beauty of our planet!  WEEK IS FULL
  • June 21-25th = Strategy Games & Puzzles: Learn how to play chess, think critically, and strategize your next move in this week’s camp.
  • June 28-2nd = Pacific NW Investigations: Bug enthusiasts, scientists in training, and expert bug hunters need apply! WEEK IS FULL
  • July 5-9th = Chemistry Rules! Bottle rockets, science experiments, and slime… need I say more? 
  • July 12-16th = Imagination Station: Storytelling, imaginative play, and the dramatic arts will be highlighted in a week devoted to acting and creating. 
  • July 19-23rd = Music & Dance: Get your groove on with a week devoted to performance art, rhythm making, and dancing to the beat of your own drum!
  • July 26-27th = Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Reimagine: Put on your imagination caps and build your own city, costume, or play world out of recycled materials!  Note: this week camp is offered only Monday + Tuesday this week ($90/week). WEEK IS FULL
  • Aug 2-6th = Thinking Like an Engineer: Lego structures, robot making, and blasting off to outer space! 
  • Aug 9-13th = Health & Wellness: Yoga, cooking, mindfulness, and emotional literacy tools 
  • Aug 16-18th = Color Wheel: Tie-dye, bead making, painting, and all things color will be explored! Note: this week’s camp is offered only Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday ($135/week). WEEK IS FULL
  • Aug 23-27th = Water Week! Let’s finish summer with some wet fun! Expect to get wet. WEEK IS FULL
